Dr. Skopit was born in Miami, FL and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, earning a degree in Biology. After graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree, she served her clinical year at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Skopit later attended the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, FL and graduated in their Acupuncture Certification program. She has worked at two small animal hospitals in Westchester County, NY, and she has also served as head of the Emergency Veterinary Medicine Department of the Veterinary Specialty Center of Hudson Valley. Additionally, Dr. Skopit formerly operated an independent house-call practice specifically for veterinary acupuncture for pets with difficulties traveling to a hospital setting. Her hobbies include photography and baking. In addition to Ottley and Terrance, Dr. Skopit and Dr. Battersby have a long haired cat named Penelope.
