Dr. Battersby grew up in Westport, CT, graduated from Staples High School, and attended the University of Rhode Island, majoring in Wildlife Biology and Management with a minor in Animal Veterinary Science. He developed his love for animals while volunteering at Earthplace in Westport. After receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, he served his clinical year at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to purchasing Park Animal Hospital in July 2013 with his wife and fellow veterinarian Dr. Skopit, Dr. Battersby spent the previous 15+ years as an associate veterinarian in Westchester County, NY. During his spare time, he can be found on the water as an avid fisherman and boater. Dr Battersby and Dr. Skopit have two Border Collie rescue dogs at home named Ottley and Terrance.
